The Value of Clickbank Product Review Sites
By A. David Beaman of GBD Marketing, LLC
The value of a product review site is that it gives consumers a way to see what people who have purchased and used the product think of it. It helps if the operator of the review site doesn't advertise the product being reviewed on the review site. If the operator of the site has a vested interest in the product, then the rating might be fabricated. However, if anyone can post a review, then the reviews will come from a variety of people and are likely to be more accurate. Of course, some people may be selling the product being reviewed as a affiliate. In which case, the reviewer is likely to want to put the product in a good light. But there will always be people who have had a negative experience with the product and want to warn others about it, or want to post a bad review to hurt the sales of the product. So, use review sites and read the bad reviews as well as the good ones. If the bad review seems like the reviewer is making a valid point, then take that into consideration. However, if the bad review is based on what appears to be an unreasonable expectation of the reviewer, then also take that into consideration. Weigh the good reviews against the bad reviews. With a broad spectrum of people posting reviews, one can usually get a good idea about the value of a product in terms of what they are seeking. |

Thank you for sharing this valuable information, Dave. There are so many sources for learning about products, but reviews can really give both sides of the story. With all of the scams on the internet, this is vital, to the buyer. Keep up the good work. Best wishes. Frederick
Dave, you made some very valid points. Review sites can be abused by the owner of the site if they are out to promote the product or they write reviews to sway the reader to buy the product. However, if they are honest about their reviews and share the bad with the good discerning readers will take that information into account. Really, it depends on the ethics of the writer. Your Intel is certainly something we should be aware of whether we are reading the reviews or writing them.
